Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's is an "expansion pack" to the Guitar Hero series, the third original title to be released. The game was released July 24, 2007 for PlayStation 2 in North America. In Europe it was released on July 28, 2007 as Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80's, while it was released in Australia on August 1, 2007.
The entire game features an 80's theme, with an all 80's set list, and new outfits, skins, etc. to support the overall theme. Also, rather than a "full" new game or sequel, the game is an expansion pack of sorts to Guitar Hero II and does not feature any changes to the actual gameplay found in Guitar Hero II.
Rock the 80's was the final title developed by developer Harmonix. They have since moved on to work on Rock Band.
